I cleaned the MAF sensor and cleared the codes. Now the P is coming back. Driving through deep puddles makes the car feel like its "out of gas" and the engine has a hard time staying on. Light has yet to come back on but I don't think its cycled quite yet. Anyone have any other advice besides taking it to the dealer? Any advice? It could be helpful in diagnosis.
Well, maybe it needs the battery cables disconnected. Have cleaned the MAF. Still nope.

P is a generic OBD II code, which means that it has the same meaning for the Mazda 6 as it would any other vehicle. It specifically indicates that your 6 detected that air-fuel mixture reading as the exhaust gas exits the catalytic converter is too rich. Post catalyst means whatever is happening is after the catalytic converter in terms of exhaust flow. The fuel trim system is what your Mazda 6 uses to adjust the air-fuel ratio for optimum combustion. So, the number of cylinder heads your 6 has determines the number of banks it can only be one or two banks. V-6, V-8, and even V engines all have two cylinder heads, and therefore two banks of cylinders. P can appear on engines with one or two banks.

Although there may be some tweaks to the software but I didn't find that path as of yet. This is my 16yo's first car that we are working on and having fun. Not sure if you have an intake or not, but plenty have actually killed their motors driving through deep water, so be safe if you have an intake. Anyone have one and what do you think?
