I think from the moment I could focus my eyes on something, I was addicted to TV. I loved singing and dancing in front of my favourite shows. I started off dancing from the age of about four. I think I just loved being on stage. I did tap, jazz and hip hop. My mum usually drove me home before my class had got to the finale. Being a lover of entertainment, clearly the six year old drama queen that I was, made me realise I wanted to be an actress. I started acting in school plays, when I was six. I did that for a while but I never took it too seriously when I was younger. I will admit I spent a lot of time talking to the camera as if someone was watching. When I started high school, acting became less of a hobby and more of a passion. I tried to do as many drama classes and theatre shows as I could. My poor dad spent hours and hours driving around Melbourne, even though most of the time I was only an extra. My parents have always been very supportive of me. When my desire to act become more apparent, my mum was a little bit worried.

Neighbours star Olivia Junkeer has opened up about her role in the new Netflix series Why Are You Like This , admitting that she initially felt "really self-conscious" about her character Mia. In an exclusive chat with Digital Spy , Olivia — who Neighbours fans will recognise as Yashvi Rebecchi — revealed what was so "nerve-wracking" about portraying Mia, as well as the differences between working on a comedy and the iconic Aussie soap. In Why Are You Like This , Olivia plays Mia, a bisexual South Asian woman who does a lot of unlikeable things — and it was that controversial side of Mia's personality that Olivia originally worried about. Conceding that her Netflix venture isn't necessarily "a respectful show", Olivia continued: "I was concerned about that. But I haven't seen any kind of issues that have come up yet. Revealing the differences between the two shows, Olivia told DS that the shift to a comedy genre was "very new" for her as an actress. Neighbours airs weekdays at 1.
