Those for and against a controversial new wine support program left an almost two-hour meeting with Premier Tim Houston on Monday night happy to have discussed the issue in person and confident the two sides can live with possible changes. Although reluctant to provide details, Coutinho suggested changes would be made to the program, which was first discussed with his group just days before its launch in January. The company stands to gain the most from the new program. The commercial winemaker and bottler did say the meeting was a good get-together between wine representatives, bureaucrats, the premier and two members of his cabinet, Agriculture Minister Greg Morrow and Finance Minister Allan MacMaster.
