Buy it Here. This significant update accomplishes that, in large part because of a spongy layer encapsulated by a durable foam that can withstand the abuse of running. But the biggest change comes to that outer material, which has been reconfigured much like the chassis of the LunarEpic using a podlike design and laser-cut grooves for flexibility. This package, however, is beefier to support a pronating foot. As with earlier versions, stability comes via a dynamic wedge under the arch—it delivers more support the further you roll inward. The fit is good and I especially like the roomy toebox and cushioning. It is snug along the foot, and I never experienced any slippage. The heel cushioning is noticeable mainly when walking, while I feel the forefoot cushioning most while running. We put each shoe through real-world usage and a battery of mechanical tests in our lab to provide you with objective — and exclusive — data.

The Nike LunarGlide 8 provides class-leading, out-of-the-box comfort in a soft, exceptionally smooth ride. The most notable difference is the disappearance of a two-piece midsole. Precession laser cuts enhance ride quality and collapse with each heel strike. Nike moved away from the Flyknit upper for the LunarGllide 8 and went with a more traditional engineered mesh upper, which does provide a more secure fitting upper, but still lacks that locked in feeling one needs while ripping around turns. The new sole is soft but does not have the same energy return I am used to with Nike. Ride Quality Despite being overly soft the one-piece Lunarlon midsole transfers energy quite smoothly through each stride. Expect a soft landing with easy toe-off.
