Nextgen caravan problems
Queensland dealer Green RV has recently introduced a new range of caravans to its product line-up, with the intriguing name of NextGen Caravans. The cabinetry work is generally square-edged, but is nicely offset by some end partitioning and the glossy finish of the cupboards. All the cabinetry work is CNC machine cut and it fits neatly together, as you would expect. The Blackline is fitted with a front tunnel boot, which affects the inside cabinetry work around the 1. In this instance, the gain is a shelf under the window, which nicely offsets the smaller bedside shelves and cabinets. Overhead lockers are fitted at the bedhead and there is under-bed storage available, but no additional cupboards at the foot of the bed. A look under the caravan reveals a very solid looking chassis — mm 6in drawbar and rails, along with 50mm 2in cross members and similarly-sized raisers. Roller rocker leaf spring suspension is used for the tandem axles, shod with 15in alloy wheels. Up front, the two 9kg gas cylinders sit above a mesh rack than can be used for wet hoses or firewood. This one scores quite highly because it not only houses the battery, charger, fuse panel and breakaway power supply, it still manages to be spacious enough for storing your outdoor camping gear. The 12V fuse panel is readily accessible, although unlabelled. In addition to the boot, there is the aforementioned tunnel storage, which is square in shape and accessible from both sides.

We are a group of people with decades of Caravan Industry experience. Our background is synonymous with the design and manufacture of recreational vehicles and interiors for some of the best-known RV brands in Australia. Our modern factories are situated in the heart of recreational vehicle manufacturing: Campbellfield, Victoria. Being self-sufficient and equipped with modern technology including CNC machines, most of the work to our product is done in house. Built to withstand the toughest of conditions, these caravans are designed and manufactured in Australia using only the highest quality materials.
What made them so popular was that Jared designed the caravans to be more suited to Kiwi tastes and conditions, and persuaded NextGen to tailor their builds to his specifications. Quite a few of our vans therefore have front windows where NextGen models for Australia have none, and the side windows are generally larger. Another key difference is that the New Zealand models allow you to stay for longer in freedom campsites. Australian caravanners tend to stay in motor camps, so that they can run their air-conditioning. The chassis of the New Zealand models is also hot-dip galvanised, whereas this corrosion protection is an optional extra in the Australian models. Choosing different colours, interior trim, and flooring is built into the base price of all the models, but you can take things further with a custom layout, although at extra cost. The Karikari model shown here is an example of a custom caravan that the buyer has tailored for their needs. Jared might never sell two caravans that are the same, but this one differs in more ways than usual.
Nextgen caravan problems
We have had quite a few people ask us why we chose a NextGen Caravans caravan. After months and months of research, we had not even heard of the NextGen range of vans, or even seen one in our travels. This was the week that Cyclone Debbie was reigning destruction over the Queensland coast. Our weekend plans were with the kids at a Gliding camp on the Darling Downs, west of Toowoomba. Needless to say, nobody flies gliders during a cyclone, so the weekend was cancelled. We woke early on Friday morning with no plans for the weekend. Ok, so online and we have tickets and free travel from the Gold Coast to Brisbane. I had another manufacturer in mind that we were interested in having a look at and they were to be our first stop. Turned out to be a long morning. Over 3 hours to Brisbane as multiple train stations were closed due to the cyclone, so we were on and off buses as well.

Impressive van with some very nice inclusions. Date: AM Sep 16, Oh dear, just didn't quite make it! We absolutely love our NextGen Caravans van. All of the above adds up to a van with a Tare weight of kg and an ATM of kg, which puts it into the mid-to-large tow vehicle range.
