New londo ruins

If I go to Ghost town I get mobbed and am just not getting far. Where am I going wrong? Or should I head into the catacombs next before I do Ghost town?

These haunted, dark and initially flooded ruins are located directly beneath the Firelink Shrine and are the haunt of cursed souls. After draining the water later on in the game, the lower part will become accessible. Can be accessed from Firelink Shrine. Past the Firekeeper Anastacia will be a staircase leading to an elevator which will bring you to New Londo Ruins. There is no bonfire in this area. Caution is necessary, especially when exploring the lower parts after draining the water. If you exhaust the Crestfallen Warrior 's dialog at Firelink Shrine after ringing both bells and awakening Kingseeker Frampt , he will be a hostile hollow here just before the first bridge.

The flooded ruins of this city of the tainted are located directly under Firelink Shrine and they're plagued by cursed beings that require a special weapon or a transient curse in order to hit them. There is no bonfire in the area and it serves as the gateway to The Abyss , once you lower the water level. Helpful tip before proceeding : the area being dark especially after draining the water , setting the game's brightness to the maximum will help you figure out the layer of the map, and will allow you to detect secrets, shortcuts and ambushes. Convenience Is Key - Go to the right first and you'll notice the doorway that leads to the Valley of Drakes ; you would've come from that doorway when passing through from Blighttown , to Firelink Shrine , earlier in the game. Go past the door toward the cliff to find a Hollow laying on his side. Proceed to the left of him, down the staircase to find Blacksmith Rickert of Vinheim - he's behind some bars on the left at the end of the stairs.

Once the water has been drained, the lower levels will be populated by numerous Darkwraiths. Piles of corpses fill the ground near the floodgates, a grim reminder of New Londo's tragic past. The area is highly dangerous. Ghosts will constantly ambush the player from walls, floors, and ceilings. Falling into deep water is a major hazard and will result in death. The numerous Darkwraiths can also prove to be challenging enemies to new players.

Head back to the bonfire in the cave near the bottom of Darkroot Basin. Go to the back of the passage and take the elevator down to the entrance of the Valley of the Drakes. This relatively small area is populated by a family of tough Wyverns.

From there run straight ahead past a darkwraith and up the stairs to your left continue into the room and there will be an exit to your left. Sometimes "Done" is the best feature. You should be able to make this run without running into any ghosts that are too difficult to evade, and once you reach the tower, the ghosts will not pursue you further, and there are no ghosts in the tower. They were never meant to roam again. Mark my words. I think you are trying to goto Duke's Archives yellow fog in Anor Londo instead of proceeding through Anor Londo proper. This area became much easier after setting the game's brightness to 10, i suggest you do the same if you get ganked by darkwraiths or have a shitty sense of orientation like me.
