By oleman March 4, in General Chat. It will bale almost anything. If you are premium hay with alfalfa there tend to be more leaves lost with it. The one I rented a Diesel is not even close enough to be able to run it in the hills.

NH Round Baler. Welcome Guest, Log in or Register. James Howell Report to Moderator. How much horsepower is needed to use a New Holland round baler? Thanks to everyone for all the information and photo. Going by the manual for a NH it says HP. I use an Oliver Super 88 to pull my and it does well. The S88 is rated at 55HP but the 6 cylinder torque power does make a differance. I tried a Farmall on it which is also rated at 55 HP and it wouldn't handle it as well Hobby farm. You could probably get by with 50, but the smallest I ever ran it with was If you're doing any amount with one, I think at least 60 would be the way to go

By ny bill o April 4, in General Chat. Bill, I'm probably not qualified to give a real definite opinion since I just bought my NH last fall. I only baled about 20 oat straw bales. I rolled up a lot of flax straw too but did not bother tieing them as it was just for burning. The oat straw was fairly short as it had been through my combine and they tell me this is hard straw to bale. It didn't have a problem starting bales and they turned out fine.

Adjustments and routine servicing are designed with simplicity in mind. A wide array of models feature durable pickups and smooth feeding systems that give you increased capacity to bale faster than ever.
If he has a bearing go out, chain break and destroy the baler, he just parks it and hooks to the next one. I guess the baler could or would not "talk" to the tractor so they were both mad at each other? Saturday 3 pm , Bueatiful afternoon before a thunderstorm, they were all reasons a belt baler would quit feeding. I had an for a season. We have baled thousands and thousands of bales of baleage with ours plus a fair amount of dry hay. One thing to do if you get one is to torque all of the bolts holding the bars to the chains. He goes to auctions and buys the NH chain balers cheap. Going by the manual for a NH it says HP. Had around bales on it when we had to replace sledge roll bearings and another one and belts were showing age. We had a NH we did run it once with our gas that's around 65hp and it worked it hard.
