Warrnambool City and Moyne Shire councils have expressed concern over a decision to declare a wind farm zone off the coast of Warrnambool and Port Fairy. The East Beach area is a popular destination for local residents and visitors, particularly given its proximity to the nearby Gardens Caravan Park. This project aims to build on existing interest in the Port Fairy area and increase visitation. The new East Beach precinct will only serve to improve the popularity of Port Fairy and in particular the East Beach area. This will The project has been in development since adoption of the Macarthur Market Street Precinct Plan in The project will see the activation and part redevelopment of the Precinct in the community of Macarthur. The precinct is home to the Macarthur Bowls Club and community outdoor pool and also has tennis courts, open space, gardens and various other amenities. The Projec Koroit Township renewal is Council's number one priority project and proposes an upgrade of the streetscapes on Commercial Road and High Street.
