I deal with the increased wear on pads by using el cheapo Allsop hard pads I can also buy them locally at Frys or Office Max , clean them frequently by scrubbing them with furniture polish roughly weekly, more often if I've been doing a lot of work , and replacing them every few months maybe two or three times a year once they do wear down. I would think those would wear even better than the tape covered feet and would be even slicker so I bought some to try out.
