Mitsuru is a character from the anime Darling in the Franxx. He is the stamen pilot of the Genstria with Kokoro.

If I had been asked to write this a few weeks ago before Darling in the Franxx finished airing, I would have written about how cute Hiro and Zero Two were as the main couple. But as the show progressed, a romance blossomed between side characters that I was not prepared for, and it made such a strong impression on me because of how good the writing was. So ultimately, I decided to change things up a bit by writing about Mitsuru and Kokoro and how great they are together. First, some background. Since their early childhood, Kokoro secretly had feelings for Mitsuru but he was oblivious to her feelings and he had no interest in romance. Still, they barely interacted with each other as they had little need to and shared no common interests. Mitsuru was a lone wolf who had little to no need for his comrades and was unafraid to speak his opinion. On the other hand, Kokoro was a shy, quiet girl who was afraid to say her true feelings, usually going with the flow to get along with her comrades. After Mitsuru got injured and traumatized from piloting with Zero Two, Kokoro started showing concern for Mitsuru's well being. He walked away during a briefing in the living room as everyone praised Hiro for successfully piloting with Zero Two, but everyone besides Kokoro failed to notice.

Over time, she began an intimate relationship with Mitsuru and they had a wedding ceremony but were punished by having their memories altered. Despite this, they reconciled after learning she was pregnant with his child. Together, they have four children; a girl named Ai who resembles her, a boy who also takes more after her, another girl who resembles Mitsuru and an unborn child. Kokoro is considered to be an attractive fair-skinned girl with wavy hip-length ashen-blonde hair that has long bangs framing her forehead on either side with a lacy blue headband to keep her hair out of her face while she has chest-length hair strands hanging on either side and calm, rich blue eyes. After Zorome walks in on them to remind Mitsuru about water duty, Mitsuru sends Zorome away and asks Kokoro where'd that came from and was shocked to hear Kokoro had been thinking about it for a long time. Looming over their shoulders, change awaits and all squad 13 can hope is to live through it. This worries Kokoro over how his grud against Hiro affects his mentality.
