I quilted each piece together with bamboo wadding so the vest is double-thickness as well as reversible. There are too many lovely fabrics in my stash that would make missmatatabi quilted jackets!

Like these napkins, which I made after coveting some out of stock cotton-linen fabric from Miss Matatabi for many months, missmatatabi, missmatatabi. What can I say? The instructions missmatatabi a bit minimal and could have been improved by interfacing and double-siding the divider piece.

Hello Miss Matatabi fans! When I saw these lovely canvas fabrics I was drawn to their weathered colors and sturdy texture. I picked the Mocha and Light Indigo to work with and my original plan was to make myself a backpack or duffle bag for myself, but as usual I changed my mind. It felt a little too ambitious for the time that I had and I was worried about whether my machine could handle layers of canvas. The tutorial is easy to follow and the finished bag is great. When I was throwing things in to take photos I was able to pack a full sized contact lens solution bottle, an eye glass case, shampoo, hair product, a small make up bag, tissue, and still had a lot more space. The seams of the bag are all finished with bias tape on the inside.

I also lengthened the body by 6 inches and did different pockets on the quilted side. Blog at WordPress. The bias binding is made of cobalt blue needlecord definitely from Ray Stitch because I bought it recently for this purpose. Covid travel restrictions meant I last saw her in December ; she died in May Literally a week later I found the magazine… Oops! I want to make more! I practically live in this outfit now. I'm joining you here today with some Winter sewing, even though …. I hope you've been enjoying a great Summer. Will use this book again for sure!
This was written by Leslie for the Miss Matatabi Makers series. It's my favourite time of month again - sewing up my monthly project. For April I chose two fabrics ….
So satisfying. Jinbei seem like the ideal summer outfit for the Canadian wilderness. Well — I did make it again. She always wore purple or stripes, she cycled everywhere, she trained as an economist. Anyway, while thinking about all these things I sewed a dress. And I found the perfect salmon pink bias tape at the local craft shop in Abergavenny. I practically live in this outfit now. Anyway I totally love these napkins even if they are only at the moment part of a fantasy life I may never lead. Will use this book again for sure! Already have a WordPress. I also saved selvedges where I could — there are three of them on view inside. Sakura buttons: from John Lewis, leftover from making this jumpsuit and dress for my little cousin. We ship worldwide! It has these amazing step by step tutorials with tonnes of photos for every aspect of shirt making, and I used these pages extensively. This allowed me to sew the lining and outer pieces together separately inside out, then pull the finished bag through a little hole I left in the lining.
