With all that being said, I did manage to get my hands on a MoonSwatch. The Mission to Mars is one of my favorite MoonSwatches. Only the Mission to the Moon and the Mission to Neptune which sells at an insane 5x premium would be above it on my list. Being a New Yorker, and having access to 3 Swatch stores in close proximity to my office and apartment, you might expect me to have gotten lucky and been able to walk out of the store with a shiny new MoonSwatch on my wrist. Well I tried. I tried prodding the sales associate for more information about when restocking normally happened but was told it was all random.

The chronograph clicks are fairly crisp, and it also has a lap timer function. It also has a number of inspiring sayings molded into the caseback. I think Swatch did a really nice job with the different colorways each corresponding to a different celestial body, mission to mars omega swatch.

Omega and Swatch and took the watch world by storm in by releasing a collaboration. It came as a total surprise and quickly became one of the most globally talked about products. When I first saw the teaser images, leaks and then the release, I could not have been more excited! It is one of the coolest ideas I have seen in recent years. Since then I have managed to purchase the Mission to Jupiter model that I bought it from a colleague who managed to get his hands on it. I have never had that burning desire to own a Speedmaster, but the MoonSwatch has allowed me to have the experience without breaking the bank. It is likely a version of the ETA G10 quartz chronograph with the date complication removed and no phantom crown position. I think Swatch did a really nice job with the different colorways each corresponding to a different celestial body. That was years ago. Additionally, the case is made of a light Bioceramic as Swatch calls it material and not steel. All Moonswatch missions include a Velcro strap in a complementary color. I have an Omega Speedmaster with those awesome hands, and bright white dial. But this watch is branded as an Omega, and I feel it's something different than an homage. Address 2. A Seiko or even a G-Shock for much less money looks and feels like a more expensive watch. The fact that it came with a bright white velcro strap, and a gigantic red aluminum shield was just icing on the cake. Luckily, Perpetual Straps offers a more affordable option. Although it has three recessed subdials, it does not have the same dial layout as a real Speedmaster.

It was after they had gone out of production, but apparently, this dealer in Frankfurt couldn't find a buyer for it. So I finally gave in. If I still had the chance to buy one at the original price, I would ditch the Mission to Mars in a second, but it has reduced the sting more than I expected it would. Although it has three recessed subdials, it does not have the same dial layout as a real Speedmaster. It is small details like these that really make an enthusiast appreciate the MoonSwatch. Its inspiration clearly came from the Alaska Project, and it contained all of the great traits that made the Alaska special: spacecraft hands, crisp white dial, and white velcro strap.
