Mega Hack also known as MegaHack is a modding tool for Geometry Dash developed by Absolute in , implementing a large compilation of mods and hacks into the game. The original version of Mega Hack was released on 8 July , and consisted of a Cheat Engine table with 13 scripts. On 21 January , a variant featuring compatibility with Geode was released. The advent of the tool divided the community; some praised it for helping lessen the skill gap between players on 60Hz displays and those on higher performance displays, still relatively uncommon at the time, while others criticized it for incentivizing hacking, deeming it illegitimate. The tool was banned by the Demonlist , with any records and players utilizing the tool removed. This notably led to numerous controversies in high-level play such as one surrounding former top players Sunix and Skullo , both of whom had utilized FPS bypass in their completion of Bloodlust. Termed "Piepass," the method involved exploiting custom display resolutions to trick Geometry Dash into launching with a higher FPS limit than permittable by the display refresh rate without modifying the game.
