I think it is a bit more complicated Healing word is good becuase it frees up your action and on some occasions amount of healing doesn't really matter; just getting someone back in the fight from 0 with 3hp is enough.

Funnily enough, I'd like to disagree about the "massively superior action economy" conditionally. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the Healing increases by 1d4 for each slot level above 3rd.
