The incident, which occurred on May 4, during the ongoing Kuki-Meitei conflict, has sparked nationwide outrage and calls for severe punishment for the perpetrators on various social media platforms. The Indian Government responded to the situation, and the Centre has reportedly requested Twitter and other social media sites to remove the graphic video while the investigation is underway. As per reports, Union Minister Smriti Irani expressed her dismay after viewing the horrifying video and subsequently had a conversation with Chief Minister N Biren Singh regarding the matter.
