The planned works will begin on Wednesday, January 3 after inspections carried out by National Highways earlier in identified defects on the M3 northbound carriageway between junctions four and three. For the safety of motorists and workers, and to minimise disruption, the repairs will occur under a mixture of lane closures and full overnight closures. The work will involve extensive deep excavations of the London-bound M3 between junctions four A and three and will require the carriageway to be fully closed overnight from Wednesday, January 3 to Thursday, January 4 from 9pm to 6am. Lanes three and four will remain open with a 50mph speed limit to enhance the safety of drivers passing deep excavations. This measure allows National Highways to continue daytime work, ensuring prompt completion of repairs. Additionally, full overnight closures will take place between junctions four A and three on the London-bound carriageway throughout the same period.

Saturday 2 March: the A2 coastbound will be closed between Harbledown A and Coldharbour Lane overnight from 8pm to 6am. During the closures a diversion will be in place via A Thanet Way and A to the Whitfield roundabout. Please note that these works are subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances, such as weather. This will maintain safety and improve the journey for road users. It will take around eight weeks. During the day we will keep the road open as usual. Friday 8 March to Friday 29 March: the coastbound A2 will be fully closed between Darenth M25 and Bean weeknights from 10pm and 6am each night. Diversion: please stay on the A2 coastbound to the Toll Gate junction, where you can join the London-bound carriage to return to the Ebbsfleet junction.
