In 7th grade, I was in line at a Madison Avenue bagel shop near my middle school when the boy I had a crush on remarked that I smelled like shit. I was funky as hell. That is, until I discovered Lume Deodorant.

When you find a deodorant this good, you don't keep it to yourself! Here's the latest buzz. Being out on the mountain for days, how do you handle body odor or cleanliness? It's difficult. Finding Lume this year was really nice to have. It made it easier to not be smelly around folks. No matter how hard I work, Lume's gonna work harder for me. If you do anything that's labor-intensive, that you sweat, then you definitely need Lume. I was really persistent on trying to find something that worked for me. When I first tried Lume, it worked for 48 hours. It's really comforting to know that I can use a deodorant that works. I was shook! My armpits, my mother apron, under the girls, and don't have to worry about irritation.
I have recommended all the Lume products to friends and acquaintances both.
This post was originally published in January and updated manyu times since. I have tried more natural deodorants and wanted to add my honest, unbiased reviews to this list. I have previously reviewed natural deodorants ; this is an update on my experience transitioning to natural deodorant, what worked and what didn't. I am not an expert, and I have not been paid by any brand mentioned in this post. The term natural deodorant is misleading, and many different deodorants with very different ingredient lists use this term. Natural deodorants, also called aluminum-free deodorants, are not antiperspirants. They do not stop sweat, they only stop odor.

The deodorant cream is super gentle on the skin and easy to rub into your armpits, on the soles of your feet, the small of your back and even into the creases and folds of your skin. To use: swipe the cream stick onto your skin, then rub in the water-based lotion with your fingertips until absorbed.

However the sweet lily smell was not so bad, not the best but tolerable. CONS: The smell upon first applying it is gross. It took me a while to get through this entire article but because of the up and down of this journey I wanted to share what is my holy grail! Doing the research, it sounded as though a natural deodorant would help clear out plugged sweat glands, improving my body smells, and requiring less product. I am familiar with Everlane; a couple of years ago I did an Everlane review focusing on tops as back then Everlane only went up to size L and I knew no bottoms would fit my body. I end the day smelling like lemonade. It does work at eliminating the ammonia scent BO I have in my nether region, but that sour off-scent is just to much for me.
