The Lightreaper is a formidable boss in Lords of the Fallen and because of his desperation to take the Umbral Lamp from you, he can appear at multiple points throughout the story. In this boss guide, we'll cover all the opportunities you have to meet him along the way and the kind of attacks you can expect from him. As The Lightreaper is seen in the prologue of the game, it's clear that he's an important part of the story. We see him take the Umbral Lamp from the Dark Crusader , and as the next inheritor of it, it's not surprising that he spends the game tracking you down. This makes his appearances unique in the game, offering the potential for multiple encounters. Immediately, The Lightreaper will appear and take over the fight. Given that you meet him early on in the game, the chances of dying to him are high if it's your first playthrough. If this happens, a cutscene will play, and you'll respawn at the nearest Vestige. When you return to the battlefield, The Lightreaper won't appear again and you'll be able to continue as normal.

You'll see bodies piled up and skewered, which will create a bloody path through the door on the left. You can easily run out of the flames even once hit to avoid the continuous burn effects. Game actively punishes you for being good using this boss :D if you kill him too soon you miss out on 3 possible quests tho atleast 2 of those quests conflict with each other as well. To make it a bit more clear than stated above, for the last fight with him, before you head in go into umbral and climb the ladders to soulflay that parasite to shut off his health regen. His repeated, spinning slashing attacks seem impossible to avoid and they might as well have made this fight against a flaming blender on wheels. Please note however, that when I say hits, I don't mean how many times the weapon hits them, because the spears hit multiple times when dual wielded. I was able to fight him twice, coming from 2 different entrances. View Profile View Posts.
The Lightreaper will stay a thorn in your side from the very beginning. He is one of the starting bosses of Lords of the Fallen, although you are supposed to lose the first time you face him. You will have to earn the right to bring this formidable foe down.
Originally posted by Cairn. Took me around hours of attempts save scumming to beat this guy on the first tutorial encounter with Exiled Stalker. We see him take the Umbral Lamp from the Dark Crusader , and as the next inheritor of it, it's not surprising that he spends the game tracking you down. However, melee can still do this boss just fine. This relentless hunter pursues you for three different battles throughout your journey until you finally beat the creature. I figured he might've transferred to the umbral realm for whatever reason, but he wasn't there either. The tricky thing to remember is that during his first proc it's more or less a wash: The mount section makes him impervious to the tick damage despite it showing it as still going. This makes his appearances unique in the game, offering the potential for multiple encounters. If you don't play very aggressively, its very hard to land the poison. He will emerge soon after, repeating the airborne attacks on his dragon of beams of fire and attempting to land on you.
