Post a Comment. Lauren Vickers loves nothing more than armfuls of fabric, Liberty print to be precise. Turning these beautiful cottons into the most dapper of gentlemen's bow ties. We are delighted to have Lauren's pieces for sale in our Made in Britain shop and caught up with her recently to find out more about her work and inspiration behind the collection Please can you introduce yourself and tell us a little about your work? I make bespoke menswear accessories, primarily bow ties, and pocket squares. The business was born out of a need for beautifully quirky, quality menswear accessories at an affordable price, something I feel is currently lacking on the high street. Apart from creating things what else do you do? I enjoy dancing, and am part of a cabaret dance troupe. From the moment I could pick up paintbrushes, pens and pencils it was all that I wanted to do. My passion for making has been a constant in my life, so much so that it was never even considered I would do anything else. I gravitated towards hands on classes, with art and technology naturally being my favourites! What do you love most about working in your chosen discipline?

I have some very exciting news! I am officially an ambassador for Ducati Australia and New Zealand!!!! It came about quite organically but I'm very proud to partner up with Ducati - a company rich in Italian motorcycle history and culture. This is especially cool because, as you may or or may not know, I am a massive rev-head. I have been riding motorbikes for 11 years now, and even worked on the MotoGP circuit for 5 years. I have ridden several bikes since then, and even a couple of scooters, and done quite a few track days at Phillip Island and Eastern Creek. I'm not quite sure where my love for motorcycles developed, but it has remained true for many years and it feels good to be back working with a field I have such a passion and interest for. Hopefully I'll get to head down to Phillip Island too at some stage. What surprised me is that Ducati didn't yet have any female ambassadors.

Swim Week in Miami is finally over! My first ever time walking in the Swim Week shows was pretty incredible! Here's a little idea of the crazy prep involved and I'll take you through a couple of Swim Week shows from the models perspective!! Castings: Girls start prepping months in advance for swim week. No alcohol, clean eating, LOTS of working out and stepping up the healthy lifestyle is a must along with a good spray tan the day before the castings start. The clients vary as to whether they want tall, short, curvy, sporty or waif, but they all want tanned, toned and lean. Hundreds of models are in Miami for swim week. You can turn up to a casting 40 minutes before it's scheduled to start and you're still number in line this happened to me on the first day.

I've found some of the most inspiring ideas or outcomes have come from people with little creative interest, because they think in a completely different way to me, and see around obstacles in a way I hadn't even considered. What do you when you are stuck in a creative rut? Comments 1 Lesslie says:. We are delighted to have Lauren's pieces for sale in our Made in Britain shop and caught up with her recently to find out more about her work and inspiration behind the collection It was sort of a natural progression for me. It can sound a little ridiculous, but there is so much more than just turning up to a photo shoot. Retrieve your password Please enter your username or email address to reset your password. Just like going to the gym will not magically change your physique in a day, one decent night of sleep does not make a person well rested.
What do you when you are stuck in a creative rut? Please can you introduce yourself and tell us a little about your work? I have my ups and downs like everybody else, but I think your mindset determines how happy you are at the end of the day. This will open your profile up to more buyers. Menswear was in some ways far more brave than it is now, and everybody, from the greengrocer to the lord of the manor took pride in their appearance. This feature is exclusive to Marketer Pro plans.
