She lived on the barn with Peridot and is now an ally to the Crystal Gems and Steven. She eventually left Earth and took the barn with her in "Raising the Barn". Unfortunately, it ends with Lapis getting poofed by Yellow Diamond. Lapis Lazuli is a Gem who utilizes powerful aquakinetic abilities.

After being abandoned by the Homeworld Gems fleeing the Corrupting Light , Lapis would remain in the mirror for thousands of years until she eventually convinced Steven to free her. Once Lapis returned to Homeworld, she was forced back to Earth by Peridot and Jasper , the latter of whom she fused with into Malachite in order to protect Steven. Following Malachite's defeat in " Super Watermelon Island ", Lapis realized she had no choice but to live on Earth after betraying Jasper, subsequently making her an enemy of Homeworld. Lapis decided to live at The Barn with Peridot. At one point , Lapis admits to Steven she enjoyed being Malachite, as it allowed her to take her anger out on someone. However, when Jasper returns soon afterwards, Lapis refuses her offer to become Malachite once again and chooses Steven and healing herself over giving into anger. Lapis formed a strong bond with Peridot during their time living together, until the threat of another war between Earth and Homeworld scared Lapis into fleeing to the Moon, taking the barn with her, but leaving Peridot behind. Steven later found her at the Moon Base and attempted to convince Lapis to return, but she refused out of fear. Lapis returned in " Reunited " and assisted the Crystal Gems in the fight against Blue Diamond , becoming a member of the team in the process. Years later, she now lives with Bismuth and Peridot in Little Homeworld.

I want to instead focus how this affects the fandom, more particularly fans such as myself who love Lapis. While it may be in many cases justified, the scope of her hatred leaves her with very few friends, and she fails to appreciate how antagonizing everyone plays against her goals. Steven, though feeling dejected, understands, and wishes Lapis good luck. She also reveals she had been watching the others via an old Diamond observation device. Bismuth pushes Steven and Lapis aside while they are hugging, but she doesn't seem to be offended by this as she likely knows the seriousness of the situation. Lapis and Peridot eventually "adopt" Pumpkin, an ambulatory semi-intelligent pumpkin Steven creates that acts like a dog. Her behavior upon release suggests the experience was not pleasant. He is also shown to be amazed by Lapis' power when she uses her power over water in an attempt to catch fish, though Greg suggests they fish the old-fashioned way. Though this time, she does get to save Steven from Jasper for real, who was threatening to shatter him. To note: up until the introduction of Aquamarine, she was the only character in the show capable of flying under her own power, neither needing to transform into something else nor requiring any enhancements.

At first, it seems like she had done it for Steven's sake, but then it's later revealed that she kept Jasper trapped in the fusion for the sake of taking all of her pent-up anger and frustration out on her. Understanding that their relationship is unhealthy, Jasper blames Steven and attempts to shatter him, but Lapis, fortunately, punches her away into the ocean. Shell-Shocked Veteran : As a civilian caught up in a Rebellion battle, poofed by Bismuth, imprisoned under the assumption she was another Crystal Gem, and interrogated for ages before being left behind and uncaringly stepped on which cracked her gem , the war did a number on her psyche.
