Yeah, this season as a whole had a lot going on. Buckle up, people. Pigeon But then she started to take more action as Rena Rouge. It was because of this kind of writing that I was honestly invested in the Alya-centric episodes this season. Granted, the writers really started to stumble towards the finish line this season when it came to handling her character. But the strange thing was that neither of these conflicts went anywhere. In addition, because the writers forgot Lila existed, that conflict Alya had with Marinette just fizzled out while the writers had her decide to quit being a superhero after already getting in trouble in a way that had nothing to do with her friendship with Marinette or the conflict with Lila. And again, the way her cover was blown was done in such a forced way, as if only being hit by a villain with the power to make you take more risks would cause someone like Nino to show concern for his girlfriend when a Ferris wheel is about to hit her and a building with innocent civilians inside. Sure, the writers obviously rushed through that resolution just so they could have an excuse for Alya to lose the Fox Miraculous right before Felix swooped in to deliver one of the cheapest cliffhangers in television history, but I still liked how Marinette understood how hard keeping secrets was, relating Alya telling Nino to when Marinette told Alya her secret, as both were the result of a lot of emotional turmoil. It was honestly a refreshing change of pace here for Marinette and Alya to talk things over and come to somewhat of an understanding. Granted, they still skipped over her life potentially being in danger now that Shadowmoth knows her identity, but then again, he barely did anything with that information even before the season finale.

Both of her focus episodes this season introduce her exclusively as a contrast to Chloe. This season just really needed more focus on the main storyline and only should have set up a handful of subplots instead of the bakers dozen we got.

With the Peacock miraculous now being fixed, Emilie will finally be revived from her coma and leads Gabriel into retirement as Hawk Moth. Or she blackmails them into joining her. Like season 3, this season will feature characters, such as Chloe Bourgeois and Luka Couffaine who will be akumatized again, but with different identities from those of previous occasions. Kagami will be akumatized again after being kicked out of the Fencing class. Alya bumps into her old friend, Felicia from her previous School, Felicia become the temporal new Rena Rouge when Alya is unavailable or akumatized again.
