Anyone own one of these and can share their opinion on one? I have an opportunity to snag a for really cheap that is pretty original and in really good shape. Great bike, sx pipe really livens up the top end if that's your thing. Some had shifter mechanism issues but if there's more than 50 hours on the bike it should have happened by now. For slow technical stuff it is great. I had a 98 and a XC. I don't like the EXC gearing for what I do. I see these bikes for sale in my area on occasion. My concerns are parts availability and reliability. I remember the KDX Kawis were always loved back in the day. I had a XC-w it was a little billy goat and actually pretty damn quick. The had a rack and pinion style power valve so it was more progressive than a traditional pv. Made the power much more linear and easy to manage in gnarly terrain.

Or am I way off the mark here?
