I wonder — how have Craftsman Tools, Ryobi Tools, and Kobalt Tools compared against each other, with respect to consumer interest trends? Craftsman has a very broad product catalog, and the same could be said about Kobalt, while Ryobi is mainly a power tool brand. Thus, I should caution that this is not an apples-to-apples comparison. Craftsman produces a very wide range of tools and accessories, and also lifestyle-type home and garage products and accessories. Ryobi primarily offers power tools and equipment, as well as accessories, storage products, and they have been dabbling more in hand tools.

Having used both Kobalt and Craftsman tools extensively over the years, I can attest to the quality and durability of these brands. Both provide reliable, sturdy tools designed to handle a variety of tasks, making them popular choices for DIYers and professionals. In terms of durability, I have found Kobalt tools to maintain their performance and integrity even after years of heavy use. This level of longevity speaks to the quality of materials and craftsmanship that Kobalt offers. Craftsman , a brand with a rich history, produces tools that are equally impressive. Their tools have a reputation for being reliable and durable, standing up to rigorous use over time.

Kobalt and Craftsman are two fantastic brands of power tools in their own right, but how do both compare against one another? I love doing this type of comparison between brands as I always find it fascinating when I can spot the similarities or differences between two companies. Which brand do I think comes out on top?

I no longer make that mistake. Their hand tools are as good as anyone's these days, and they have the same lifetime warranty as everyone else. They started out at a really great price and were plentiful, but now they are getting hard to find especially the bigger sizes and have almost doubled in price. Replaced the ratchets, but otherwise the set's been durable. If I was OK with that option, I wouldn't have started this thread. However, there are some key differences regarding the power tools each brand manufactures. Oh, and do yourself a favor and buy a set of ratcheting wrenches to go with your new kit if it doesn't already include them. A receipt or ID is usually required. Although Craftsman and Kobalt are in the same market space, they each have their own accessories, including batteries, to fit their tools. Toyman01 said: All of my socket sets are Kobalt and have been for a long time. Where do you live that causes you to run into 9mm fasteners frequently?

The bulk of my hand tools are still Craftsman stuff I bought in the 90s, but IMO their quality really started to go downhill about years ago. Ratchets, sockets, wrenches, etc. Ryobi tools. Have a set of mid 90s Cman and a set of Husky that are much more recent, the Huskys are longer just like the Kobalt. The craftsmans kit are pretty much garbage compared to the harbor freight kit. A few were my grandpa's. I've never missed it. I have Craftsman and Kobalt hand tools, and Ryobi One 18v tools. Thanks for the clarification. A potential consistent source of error might affect a trend consistently, to where it might affect the accuracy of numerical data, but not so much the precision of the interest pattern or peaks. Depending on usage, I'm a big fan of quality hardline tools. Gear wrench ratchets are better than just about anything. On top of that, Kobalt has slightly more expensive products for professionals and inexpensive hand tools for homeowners.
