The world's The name Kira was created by the public in response to Light Yagami 's initial use of the Death Note , and various members of the public view Kira as a god. As the name implies, the series Death Note is filled with the deaths of many characters, and whether main or supporting, none are safe from the judgment of Kira. Light Yagami, also known as Kira for most of the series, is highly intelligent and tends to prove to always be ten steps ahead of his opponent. Yet Light has to pretend to have a normal life while being the main suspect to the leader of the Kira Investigation, L, while also passing righteous judgment over others as Kira takes a lot of creativity. Whether in the right or the wrong, Light shows he is the perfect person to be Kira. After Light Yagami finds the Death Note, he feels the need to see how far he can go with using it. While taking a trip to a convenience store, Light witnesses a young girl being harassed by a group of men on bikes. When the leader of the group, Takuo Shibuimaru , reveals his name to the girl Light overhears and decides to use this man as his test subject. Once the girl takes off running across the street from Takuo, he chases after her and is hit by a large truck, exactly how Light had written in the Death Note. With Light's intelligence and his connection to the police with his father being the Deputy Superintendent , no one besides the worldwide famous detective L suspects him of being the cause of it all. Especially when the "second Kira" makes their appearance by using a tv station to air their homemade videotapes proving their ability to kill while pretending to be the real Kira. By accurately stating when news broadcasters will die in real-time for the public to see, no one questions this bold move to be made by anyone but Kira. Once the famous detective L starts to suspect that someone related to the Japanese Police is behind the Kira attacks, L gets assistance from the FBI to follow the two families he suspects the most. With Light's family being one of them, he quickly finds out that he is being followed, and it is no time at all before he figures out a plan to find the name of the agent attached to him. Light locates a criminal to create a scene where they will play as his puppet and hijack a bus that he and his agent will be on. Once the scene is set, Light causes the hijacker to touch a part of the Death Note, causing him to see the Shinigami Ryuk, and as the hijacker panics, he runs off the bus right into a moving car.

Despite his position, he is stated to not have what it takes to be a true leader and that kira deathnote was selected to attend the meetings to make Higuchi look good.

Death Note is one of history's most famous anime and manga franchises, and it's easy to see why. The battle of wits between L and the serial killer Kira is intense and gripping, as both match wits and ideologies. While L is fixated on fixing the injustices he sees before him, Kira wants to make the world a better place through any means necessary, including murdering anyone they deem unfit for the world. However, one of the most fascinating things about Kira is that their ideology is inherently flawed, to the point that they are never right about anything important. Despite talking a big game, every action they perform and the justification they give for it is faulty. Tp its credit, by the end of the series, the story lays bare exactly why this is.

The Task Force is created by Ryuzaki after he deduces that Kira is in Japan and is the only organization within the country that is searching for Kira. The existence of the organization is not made public, and the names and personal information of all of the members are kept secret. After Ryuzaki's death, Light Yagami heads the organization and begins operating under the title of L. The NPA initially has many members assigned to the Kira case. As it becomes clear that anyone searching for Kira will be in great danger, nearly every officer chooses to leave. The small number who remain are asked to meet with L in person. In its early days, the Task Force meets at various hotels, arriving at staggered times, until the tower L had built is finished. During this time, L has the homes of two police families bugged; detains Misa Amane , Light, and Soichiro Yagami ; and calls in the support of a conman and a thief ; all actions that cause tension between L and the officers.
