Part man, part reptile, Killer Croc has swum his way out of the sewers of Gotham City and into the ranks of the Suicide Squad. Most of Batman's rogues gallery is comprised of mentally deranged killers, or diabolically killer croc criminal masterminds. Most are generally human. Waylon Jones was born with a condition that gave him a thick scaly hide and razor-sharp claws and teeth. As a child, he was relentlessly bullied because of his monstrous appearance. When he was only eight years old, he snapped and almost killed one of his schoolyard tormentors. For that little incident, he spent the next eight years of his life in reform school. He didn't like it much. Over this time his contempt for humanity grew; and so did his body, mutating to grotesque proportions and becoming increasingly reptilian in appearance. The circus and its inhabitants became Waylon's family and had the circus been able to maintain financially afloat who knows if Waylon would then have turned to organized crime after all.

Waylon Jones is Killer Croc , a misunderstood man with a congenital disability that gives him some of the traits of a crocodile. Because he was treated like a monster for most of his life, he became very cynical and dangerous, making him an enemy of Batman. However, he's made multiple attempts to show his kinder side when given the opportunity. Cursed with an incurable congenital disability that made him gradually become more reptilian in appearance, Jones was ridiculed as a child. During one of these ridiculing sessions, a policeman born missing an arm called Hoolihan sat down next to him, asking what was wrong. Waylon replied that he was a freak and that it hurt. Hoolihan told him that he's not a freak and may grow up as a President or a king.

Waylon Jones , also known as Killer Croc , was abandoned and put under the guardianship of his incredibly abusive and alcoholic aunt after his mother died giving birth to him and his father abandoned him, due to his appearance, the result of a combination of body mutation, genetic disorder and rare skin disease he was born with, that only worsened over time. Brutally abused in his home and locked up in a closet like an animal as his aunt drank and engaged in sexual activities and relentlessly bullied at school his entire life, Waylon accepted his place in society as always being seen as a monster. After his time of being abused and bullied went too far, Waylon then embraced his animal instincts and violently murders and devours his aunt after finally reaching his breaking point. Waylon fled from society and eventually joined a traveling circus, where he was made part of the stage performances, becoming and adopting the stage name known as, "Killer Croc. This came to a tragic end however, when vicious audience members in Gotham City staged a horrendous attack, destroying the circus and killing all whom Waylon felt affection for.
