A new trailer for The Killer just dropped… and there are a few similarities to Hitman. The impressive new trailer shows Michael Fassbender racking up an impressive body count, especially when you consider that the teaser is just 1 minute and 24 seconds long. Even that sounds a lot like Agent 47, and the similarities only get more obvious as the trailer progresses. Thankfully, the action and overall tone are pretty on the Blood money too, so The Killer comes across as the greatest Hitman movie that was never made. It almost makes you wonder whether director David Fincher is a bit of an Agent 47 fan. Even the music in the trailer conjures that familiar Jesper Kyd vibe with a thumping electronic score from Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross.

Therefore, even while the terrorists were in their 60s, they looked much younger. Ort-Meyer's goal was to create "perfect assassins" who could be as physically fit as humanly possible and were capable of obeying orders with devotion and unquestioning loyalty. Ort-Meyer tried to make his discoveries public before the 47 clone was created, however, he was discredited as a scientist by his peers as they thought that Ort-Meyer's radical theories were insane.

David Fincher's latest movie The Killer features several references and details that point to other classic films as well as his signature directorial style. Michael Fassbender stars as the ruthlessly cold and calculated unnamed assassin who had a flawless reputation before making a costly error during a planned hit in France. The film consists of several Fincher-isms in its narrative structure, cinematography, themes, and frequent collaborators, constructed with a similar meticulous perfectionism as its eerie, unblinking protagonist. Parts of The Killer can feel inescapable in both compelling and unsettling ways, as Fassbender's protagonist takes up the vast majority of the screen time.
