Life as we all know it has been on hold for a long time now, and all concerts, ceilidhs, sessions and music events have ceased to be. So there is very little to report right now! But we hope to resume musical ventures before too long. The lockdown has given me time to gather a whole set of new musical ideas together towards the creation of a fifth solo cd, tentatively entitled "Days Long Gone". I hope to get together with engineer and producer Rob Hiley this year to make this. The Occasionals ceilidh band play for dancing throughout the year, with some events also being open to the public. We will be raring to go once the world is safe to do so! A4 landscape, spiral bound 30 pages, full colour, by Kevin Macleod. In , Roddie Macleod, a local Coigach man, turned his camera on the ways of life in his own home area. He photographed the locals, many of whom were his close relations, friends and neighbours who undertook the annual tasks of crofting, shepherding, salmon fishing and provided the necessary local services. These fine images capture the timeless cycles of hard work on the sea and land, and the resulting album was carefully annotated with his personal commentary on the ways of the close knit community that had changed little in his lifetime. Now, some 60 years later, much of what was seen in has disappeared, so it seems fitting to reveal these photographs to shed some fresh light on the life in Coigach in those days.
