However, Austro-Hungarian architects who worked in Bosnia recognized the authentic values of vernacular residential architecture, defined during the Ottoman times, and the necessity of its preservation through procedures of creative reinterpretation of tradition. Respecting pure cubic forms of traditional residential Bosnian architecture, its extraordinary integration into the natural environment, its respect for privacy, light, and air as well as the multifunctionality of its interior design, some former students of the eminent Viennese modernist Otto Wagner proposed the prototype of "Bosnian villa" as an extraordinary synthesis of Eastern and Western architecture, reflecting some basic principles that European modern architecture was also looking for.

Abstract Postcards are both a part of the history of art, photography, printing technique and tourism, and polysemic material culture objects which point to a particular iconographic tradition as connected with the visual they bear. Within this context, postcards have been the focus of readings on modernization, colonialism, propaganda history and gender relations as well. Within this scope, the ritualization aspect of the celebration is discussed first since postcards are used as greeting objects. Then, with reference to the concept of "ritualization" which is redefined as an area of conflict, "representation practices" in the visuals of postcards are investigated. On the other hand, the poetics of postcards are also brought into question by the "formulaic expressions of the greeting" written on their backs. Eventually in this study, in the context of postcards being a practice of remembering and celebrating, they are listened from an interpretive perspective for what they represent on their own as material culture objects.
