Thomas Jefferson University requires students who are clinical participate in educational activities involving patient exposure or activities within a healthcare facility to have completed a COVID primary vaccination series. The University continues to adhere to public health guidelines in an ongoing effort to keep the campus community safe and healthy and reserves the right to impose additional measures. This policy applies to all full-time, part-time, matriculated, and non-matriculated clinical students at Thomas Jefferson University. Clinical students are defined as students participating in educational activities involving patient exposure or activities within a healthcare facility. A request for a medical exemption must be submitted to Student Health Services. Following the submission of the form and any other required documentation, Student Health Services will notify the student if the exemption has been approved and if so, whether the exemption is considered permanent or provisional. Students who have received a medical exemption from the COVID vaccination requirement, and have any on-campus activities, may be subject to additional safety measures such as, but not limited to, surveillance testing. Student Affairs or the Dean of Students will notify the student if the exemption has been approved and if so, whether the exemption is considered permanent or provisional.
