Posted by: PaulaK December 20, A few months ago, I started to plan a trip to Disneyland with my daughter, who is also my theme park buddy. We wanted to visit during the holidays, and we also have a couple of times in that we hope to return to California. I started pricing ,and I realized that it might make more sense if we were to purchase Magic Keys for both of us. When I started my research, I looked at the dates for our trip, plus the dates for when we hope to return. When I checked the dates, everything looked good for our trips. The top two levels of Magic Key, Dream and Believe, are sold out. Part of the reason why Enchant Magic Key costs so much less than the higher levels is because of the number of blackout dates. A lot of weekends are blocked out, as well as holiday weeks and a good part of the summer. I booked the first four available days for us as soon as we purchased the passes. I was glad that I did, because the reservations were full for December just a few days later. Besides Theme Park admission, one of my favorite parts of having an Enchant Magic Key is the discounts.
Currently the only way to buy a Magic Key is online or in the Disneyland app. Unlike Walt Disney World, the dining discount applies to almost everywhere that sells food—including quick service.

Disney announced the reopening of Magic Key sales, which gives you the opportunity to purchase a Magic Key if you never have before, or to change tiers if you had been renewing at a tier you no longer need or want. Since Disneyland ended their Annual Pass program back in January there has been a ton of ambiguity around the future of annual passes. This is one of the biggest changes that occurred with the transition to the Magic Key Pass. Not only did we see a big change in the pricing but also in the number of offerings. The Magic Key Pass currently includes four different tiers to choose from. It is worth noting the Imagine Key is only available to Southern California residents. The previous Annual Pass program had six different tiers. Another big detail in all of this is there is, no equivalent to the Disney Premier Passport anymore that allowed guests entry to both Disney World and Disneyland. TL;DR: After trying out the Disneyland Magic Key Pass, we recommend it for locals who want to visit the park often, and travelers who plan to visit at least three times within a year.
Is a Disney Believe Key annual pass worth it? No one waited more than 2 hours, and by early afternoon, the wait time was less than one minute. Got back in queue with a 58 minute wait. So they absolutely are pushing the ability to upgrade on people holding used or partially used tickets, but people with unused tickets still at least as of Friday have to visit the park to upgrade. Moreover, ticket prices change. The Inspire Key annual pass is the most extensive Disneyland annual pass available.
