At Immaculata University team spirit is found everywhere with our Mighty Macs. Thirty percent of our undergraduate students choose to represent Immaculata in a sport or multiple sports. In addition to excelling in sports, our student-athletes consistently earn recognition for their academic achievements as well. The Eagles took to the pitch at Cathedral Tuesday, March 5th for the opening game of the season. Stellar defense lead by Claire Smith and Clara Mahoney made some extraordinary saves in goal. It was a very physical game, with defensie on display. The Eagles were lead to vicotry by 8th grade student Eloise Ekstrand, who scored all but 5 points. Ekstrand scored clutch free throws late in the 4th quarter to seal the win. Congratulations to the team, players and huge thanks to our top notch coaching staff! This Immaculata team definitely felt on top of the world. The unexpected longshots from the East Coast played themselves into national recognition as they took down college and university teams from all across the United States. With an original team of 11 women, they shocked the world in that first year, and would do the same for many more years to come. The Mighty Macs eventually competed in five consecutive national championships winning the first three titles, earning runner-up in and and 4th-place in Along with the major feats of winning city and national championships, growth within Immaculata athletics happened progressively. These sports were being added to the already existing sports of field hockey, volleyball, tennis, basketball, and softball. When the decision was made in to accept males into the traditional undergraduate college, it brought great change throughout the University.
