While the franchise films were a huge success, the television series received little praise and didn't garner well with fans. On IMDb, the show only received an overall 5. It has moderately favorable reviews on rating sites, while I think it should be rated higher. I'm sure some hardcore film enthusiasts would call those numbers generous considering how many of the film's gags revolve around race, but I thought it was funny at the time.
