In continuing to indicate the value of a student council to a school, Mr. Perry stated that the activities of the council create a closer co-operation between the teachers and the students in that the students on assuming responsibilities realize why regulations are necessary and develop a healthy respect for authority instead of resenting it. In addition the council gives an opportunity to the students for purposeful activity the absence of which creates in the student a dislike for school. Closely allied to purposeful activity is the matter of school morale.
