I originally chose the Aldor in BC to gain rep with and in that expansion got them to exalted and was therefore hated by the Scryers. I purchased the required items on the AH basilisk eyes and turned in the quest in Shatt times. Each time I turned in the quest I saw in the General tab a message that said Aldor went down and Scryers went up. When I was done my Aldor rep was neutral and my Scryers was still 35, of 36, hated. Am I doing something wrong? According to Wowhead this is all I need to do. I opened a ticket with customer support and they pointed me to the same things I had already done. As indicated, the basilisk eyes only allow you to reset your reputation to neutral, at which point you can quest and do reputation item turnins Firewing Signets, Sunfury Signets, and Arcane Tomes. They are saying they are trying to raise their Scryers rep, not Aldor, and that the basilisk eyes turn-ins did not raise their Scryers rep to neutral as expected. That should require Dampscale Basilisk Eye. You have done turn-ins which would net you 35, rep. Two more turn-ins should be all of the rep needed to move out of Hated and into Hostile.

December 25, Flew over to the Scryer place, but Voren'thal doesn't offer the repeatable quest for Arcame Tomes. Checked the Hagard War Veteran for the quest to initally choose a faction but nothing. So, did I miss something? Is there another quest I have to do? Do I need to get my Scryer rep up to at least Friendly before I can turn in the rep items?

How are y'all not going to talk about the Scryer's Bloodgem for caster dps? Thats the reason casters went Scryer and not Aldor So prot paladin goes Aldor, I think? Kinda thought they would label which class goes to which clearly. Every class of tank except for Feral Bear Druid should consider Scryer. Greater Inscription of the Knight, with its higher Defense to Dodge ratio, is much more useful to both Protection Paladins and Warriors. Block is a far more useful trait for avoidance than Dodge for these classes, so they won't get the most use out of it.

This choice affects what parts of Shattrath you will be in as well as what patterns you will have access to with your chosen professions. This is not a permanent decision, however changing from one to the other requires significant time investment so making a good choice early on is much smarter. There are slight advantages between the factions that you can take into consideration, regardless of class or spec that might help sway your decision. The Aldor are higher up and require an elevator to get to. But the Aldor have direct access to the back door which leads directly to Nagrand.

Based on my experience I believe that roughly 12 turn-ins is the minimum it would take for someone to switch sides. I ended up searching the bug list to find that this has been a problem for over 2 years. I did do 1 more repeatable quest and that pushed me from 0 Neutral with Scryer to Neutral with Scryer.
