Originally the 16th century palace of the Marquis of Ferrandell, it was restored in the 18th century to feature a typical Mallorcan interior patio. This attractive patio, dotted with huge palm trees and tables and chairs, is now the centre piece of Born and its 35 rooms. With such an entrance, guests may forget this is a two star budget hotel. However it is a budget hotel, so despite the setting and the traditional dark wood antiques, the en-suite rooms are simple and clean, with basic beds and furnishings. The best rooms in the hotel have large French windows looking out onto tall palm trees and the pretty patio below. Hotel Born is a welcoming place to stay and boasts an enviable central location. The impressive cathedral and stretching seafront are just a walk away. Whilst the main shopping streets of Palma are metres away, so what you save on accommodation can be spent in Camper, Zara and Loewe! A great place for a long weekend in Palma. Very pretty building right in the heart of Palma old town. Helpful staff and generous breakfast. Our room looked out to the courtyard and had a new modern well equipped bathroom. The hotel has kept its old palace charm though and breakfast in the courtyard is still a nice start to the day. We will be returning again, thanks. We had a fab weekend away at this welcoming character hotel.
