What are all these models and how are they different?

I am having a bit of a dilema, I am currently saving for a for when my 2 year restriction is up, but i cant decide which, i am looking for a choice from yourselves, a reason why and what the bikes ride like, if you don't mind. Sport probably more comfortable. What do you want from it? Always preferred the F sport. But I'm going on looks alone. For the average rider theres probably not much between them, the rr obviously looks the sportier with its underseat pipe. The sports are probably easier on the wallet too.

I didn't want a sports bike as my first bike but was amazed at how easy to ride and comfortable it was when I test rode one. I found it easier to ride than the ER-5 I learnt on, and not much less comfortable. But what is the "Sport" version? It obviously looks a little different with a single seat which I like and I could see it has no centre stand which doesn't bother me. But would it be any different to ride the standard F? Most importantly, would it be any less comfortable i. Thanks very much.

On a misguided but awesome quest to rediscover my riding youth, I thought — maybe a sport bike is in order. Great bike, but there will be time for that later. On the other hand, one of the most youthful, impractical choices is a supersport bike in the cc class. The Yamaha R6 is the pinnacle of these right now, but others in the class are almost identical, and even have a few pros and cons. Doing my research on which model of CBRRR to buy and what to look for by riding them, inspecting them, and talking to owners, I decided to put up my notes for others to use. Spoiler — I did eventually get a sport bike and have since been through several. Well, I am.

That's for you to decide. F4i retails less, should have lower private party pricing, and is a generally more versatile machine; can also be used as a touring machine. Rider fatigue sets in faster riding the RR than the F4i but you might be different. F4i is more relaxed, RR more aggressive.

Some markets e. This allowed Honda to extend the valve service interval from miles km to miles km , an interval that Honda still uses today for most of its liquid-cooled bikes. The F4i is still a great bike, but if you want to step up your riding skills the RR will teach you some. It has a steel frame again rather than aluminium , a conventional, non-adjustable fork, a shock adjustable only for preload, and very basic twin-piston axial mount front brakes. What to look for, what to pay, and how to love one of the most underpowered, misleadingly named, maddening, and greatest motorcycles of all time. So, the CBRR makes more power. So, the CBRF is easy and civilised to ride, but has a bit of bite when you need it. Please consider creating a new thread. It was a ground-up design, and the effect was an instant hit — people considered it to be a bike that was sedate at low speeds but that tempted you to wind out the tachometer past rpm where the fun started. The CBRF was always comfortable. And the old-design engine, which has threaded adjusters for the valves, has relatively short valve service intervals of mi km , which is half that of its immediate successor, the CBRF2. It has a broad, very usable power-band, and is engaging to ride. That CBR RR looks very nice, I tried out a RR before I bought the gixer thou, was nice just not what I was after, too relaxed maybe, the gixer is very aggressive, both in power delivery and looks. But the RR will tear it appart in the corners. Gone were the days of Tadao Baba and his philosophy of bikes that could do everything.

Oh, and ram air induction, which Honda finally discovered for itself. I own the one in the picture in the right. I can't really tell much difference apart from the looks the RR just feels lighter, sharper and nimbler than the F Sport. Later iterations of the CBR-F line have inverted forks, but they lost the adjustability of this generation. I like it for now. ZZ-R , a more street-oriented sport bike with nevertheless a powerful engine. Standard f dated the same year or later doesn't have adjustable suspension either. With better suspension, braking, and lighter weight, the F4 handles a lot better than its predecessors. Make sure you have got some sort of stand for doing work on it though. But I'm going on looks alone. This post was initially published on March 25, , but has been significantly updated in late with official stats, a lot more photos, and a lot more detail.
