Homehub 4000

Hello, I recently upgraded to bell fibre internet and received a Homehub from bell. Everything is going pretty good except for my kasa switches that lose connection all the time. I have the switches on the guest network and it looks like they use the same band as the main 2. I have tried disabling whole home internet and playing with the bands using a wifi scanner without success. Any issues? I tried to setup one of the kasa switch to the main network but had the same issue. My next step is to disable the guest network and see what happens. I'm trying to avoid having to reconfigure all my switches because its a pita to change dozens of them Seems others are having the same issue based on a thread I had started on redflagdeals forum. You could consider connect old router to the Home hub router and use it as an Access Point , and connect kasa devices to the old router AP and see if that helps. I aslo found this thread by someone else who seems to have issues. Not sure if a resolution has been posted for it.

But the point that I am trying to make is that you will never, ever see 3Gbps on any of those four ports as they cannot support that speed. Subscribe now to keep reading and get access to the full archive, homehub 4000.

This is the successor to the Home Hub the two routers look identical , but the Giga Hub offers support for Wi-Fi 6E, which in theory should make it work better with multiple devices, as long as they also support the new Wi-fi standard. However, I recently tried replacing it with a top-of-the-line TP-Link E review coming soon , and the process has been a tech nightmare. A speed test on the Giga Hub lets you measure speeds coming in from the wall. Mine was bundled into my plan for free as long as I return it when I cancel my service. After signing up, a technician showed up at my house the next week, installed a fibre line, and I was off to the races. After he left, I downloaded the Bell Wi-Fi app and set my password and network name with ease. If you need to dive deeper into the advanced settings, you can always visit the traditional modem control panel at Bell.

As part of my upgrade to Bell Fibe 1. Instructions on how to do that can be found here. I will comment that this is not small but it looks good. It will fit into any decor. The black strip at the bottom has a panel that shows you all sorts of information. Such as the status of your Bell services. You can use the arrow keys to scroll through everything. You can even do a speed test via this panel. It supports the use of storage devices but not printers from what I can see. I stand to be corrected on that.

One of the things that came with my recent Bell Install is was the Home Hub AKA: HH hardware , which I have effectively bypassed by using first this method and then this method to do it. But since Bell has been rolling out a new piece of hardware as they roll out 8Gbps service in an attempt to make their chief rival Rogers as extinct as a T-Rex. That piece of hardware is called the Gigahub. Which if you have hardware that supports WiFi 6E you can get faster WiFi speeds as you will be on a less congested frequency. But under the hood, it runs different firmware which implies that there are other differences that users are not aware of.

The HH had a battery compartment and 4 hours run time. I am investigating the same issue but it is just not switches, it is the bulbs and plugs as well. Not sure if a resolution has been posted for it. Funny seeing them mentioned in your review. We use cookies and browser activity to improve your experience, personalize content and ads, and analyze how our sites are used. One thing that I should note is is that when you use their pods, the speeds are capped relative to the speed of the HH Thanks for your excellent review and trouble shooting advice to uninitiated user community. Even beyond that, it feels strange to sell these crazy high speeds of 8Gbps with only one 10Gbps networking port on the actual device. My next step is to disable the guest network and see what happens. The tech who installed this perhaps should have said a bit more. Why is that important.

Giga chad? Kasa and Bell HomeHub View Original Size. My house will have CAT6 wiring to two of the floors and those cables will be connected to a set of the Asus routers. The new router seemed to work a little better. This thread has been locked for further replies. Cancel Send. This realization refilled my resolve with enough hatred for Bell that I was able to dive back into the man v. Can the F st work at any input voltage between 10 and 15V? I showed up just to figure out what the speed of all the ports were on the back of the router. Thank you for the review. Oldest Newest. Smart Action 2.
