Hibernia was opened in by Dean Carlyle, with the mission of being a customer focused Tattoo and art sanctuary. A safe, clean, inclusive, and fully licenced space, where artists can grow and evolve, bouncing ideas off each other, and working closely with each client to produce an outstanding artwork both can be proud of, for life. The studio is named after the character and graffiti filled heritage listed building, Hibernian House, in which it is located, in Sydney's Surry Hills. Truly one of the last of it's kind, Hibernian House has been a well known haunt for the street art community for more than 3 decades.

If you were to accidentally stumble into this labyrinth of concrete stairwells and corridors, you'd be forgiven for thinking this run-down pile must be abandoned, or worse, condemned. But you'd be wrong. In truth, beneath its grungy paint job, Hibernian House is a thriving haven for creative businesses — an outpost of an artist vanguard that somehow survived the gentrification of Surry Hills. Among them is Dean Carlyle, founder of Hibernia Tattoo, who set up shop in the building in And much like the underestimated address of this studio, Carlyle and his team quietly yet confidently defy expectations. Hibernia is an altogether more sophisticated operation, with a bright, clean, welcoming space kitted out with some of the most advanced tattoo tech available.
