This week, we drill down even deeper into one particular component of that glorious place that emerged near its final years: the infamous Cactus Club Happy Hour from 5 to 9pm every single day until the place closed.

Cactus Club is a casual western dining chain originally from North Vancouver. The frose is a play of two different words: rose wine and frozen. Taste is fun and fruity but not strong. So I really enjoy the frose, which is why I try the frose sunset soda. When it arrives, I do have to say I am disappointed.

I appreciate restaurants that offer happy hours in the evening as well since I can rarely get away to enjoy some drinks during the day! Mom life, I guess…. Anyways, one member of our party is a vegetarian so Cactus Club was the perfect place for us to meet for a catch up session as they had plenty of items on both their regular and happy hour menus. A common practice now, Cactus Club has QR codes for you to scan at your table to bring up the menu on your phone. We were greeted promptly at the door by a very friendly hostess and led to our table. Our server quickly checked in after and was very personable! She was having a bit of a hard night but she still had a smile on her face each time she came around. She also completely surprised us at the end of our meal more on that later.
