Palliative psychiatry is an approach that aims to improve the quality of life of patients and their families by trying to prevent or alleviate suffering through timely evaluation and treatment when faced with physical, mental, social, and spiritual problems associated with serious life-threatening mental illnesses. The fact that individuals with serious mental illness are a disadvantaged group in accessing health services, the rate of physical diseases that are difficult to treat compared to the general population is quite high in this population, their physical diseases are diagnosed later and their compliance with treatment is more difficult, this special group continues to live with a low quality of life and it results in death at an earlier age of years. Therefore, considering the burden of serious mental illness on both the family and society, it is clear that palliative care is needed. However, the need for palliative care for individuals with psychiatric illnesses remained in the background, and discussion of the need for palliative care became possible at the beginning of the This study was written to raise awareness about where we are in benefiting from palliative care services in our country and in the world and to draw attention to the role of psychiatric nurses, whose role in patient advocacy is at the forefront, in psychiatric palliative care.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the contribution of demographic characteristics and self-esteem on life satisfaction. Self-esteem is predicted to increase during the undergraduate years as a consequence of career planning. Previous research has shown that self-esteem positively affects students' life satisfaction. The sample consisted of students studying at Agri Ibrahim Cecen University. The data were collected using a survey method, which included measures of life satisfaction, self-esteem and potential demographic characteristics. In general, participants reported high scores on both self-esteem and life satisfaction. However, no significant relationship was found between demographic characteristics and life satisfaction. Gender and level of education made no significant contribution to self-esteem and life satisfaction. A positive and significant correlation was found between self-esteem and life satisfaction. Also, according to multiple regression analysis, self-esteem was an important explanatory factor in life satisfaction. Self-esteem was found to be significantly predicting life satisfaction after controlling for the effects of demographic characteristics.

This study aims to compare professional quality of life and level of learned resourcefulness of the nurses working in psychiatry and other departments and investigates whether there was a significant correlation between their professional quality of life and learned resourcefulness. It appears that RLRS level and job satisfaction subscale level were higher, whereas burnout and compassion fatigue subscale levels was lower in psychiatric nurses. The study argues that the experience in psychiatric knowledge and experience contributes to the nurses gaining individual coping skills and transference of those skills to raise their professional quality of life.
