Because this is a news announcement, we won't have products in hand for at least another day — but we can fly through the hard specs today and then advise that you return this week for our reviews. Note also that the GTX Ti and are on 14nm fabrication process, which is part of nVidia's already ongoing process switching based on supply availability. We were told by nVidia that AIB partner models can allegedly overclock upwards of MHz with an additional power header — though that's something GN will independently validate. It is not until factoring in heavier overclocks or other ancillary features that additional power headers will become necessary, though using one anyway will lighten load on the PCIe bus. The most important takeaway here is that the Ti can be operated on PSUs nearing W, depending on other hardware in the system. The industry is finally moving away from big power supplies, and this will hopefully encourage PSU manufacturers to invest at the low end.

The GeForce 10 series is a series of graphics processing units developed by Nvidia , initially based on the Pascal microarchitecture announced in March This design series succeeded the GeForce series , and is succeeded by the GeForce 16 series and GeForce 20 series using the Turing microarchitecture. The Pascal microarchitecture, named after Blaise Pascal , was announced in March as a successor to the Maxwell microarchitecture. Starting with Windows 10 version , support has been added for using a hardware graphics scheduler to reduce latency and improve performance, which requires a driver level of WDDM 2. These are what were previously known as reference cards, i. These cards have started being used as reference to measure performance of partner cards. The Founders Edition cards have a die cast machine-finished aluminum body with a single radial fan and a vapor chamber cooling Ti, , Ti only [16] , an upgraded power supply and a new low profile backplate , Ti, , Ti only. Due to production problems surrounding the RTX series cards and a general shortage of graphics cards due to production issues caused by the ongoing COVID pandemic , which led to a global shortage of semiconductor chips , and general demand for graphics cards increasing due to an increase in cryptocurrency mining, the GTX Ti, alongside the RTX and its Super counterpart, [19] was brought back into production in As a result, the "M" suffix is completely removed from the model's naming schemes, denoting these notebook GPUs to possess similar performance to those made for desktop PCs, including the ability to overclock their core frequencies by the user, something not possible with previous generations of notebook GPUs. This was made possible by having lower Thermal Design Power TDP ratings as compared to their desktop equivalents, making these desktop-level GPUs thermally feasible to be implemented into OEM notebook chassis with improved thermal dissipation designs, and, as such, are only available through the OEMs.

Aimed at the entry level discrete video card market, these products will round-out the GeForce series desktop lineup. Launching their low-tier cards last instead of first for the Pascal generation marks an interesting inverse of what happened with the Maxwell generation. In it was the low-end Maxwell 1 parts that launched first, only to be followed up by the other Maxwell 2 parts later on in the year. NVIDIA is launching two cards — both of which are based on the new GP — which setup a two-tier product offering for the entry level market. The faster of the two cards is the GTX Ti, while the GTX follows closely to offer a bit less performance at a lower price point. And in order to maximize compatibility, both cards are being offered in configurations that draw their power entirely from the PCIe bus, forgoing the need for an external power connection. Meanwhile power consumption starts at 75W, the maximum amount allowed to be pulled from a PCIe slot.

Dave James. Published: Oct 25, Affordable p gaming for the win, eh? Want a definitive score? For each position on the graphics card totem pole the price point has shifted upwards. The launch rumours were close, but no-one nailed the exact official release date Nvidia have just announced. The straight GTX though is only a paper launch right now, with the actual silicon only likely to appear on the shelves sometime around the first week or so of November. With no reference cards being made though real pricing is going to stretch upwards from there, with a whole host of factory-overclocked cards likely to dominate the etailers from the outset. Both cards though run at the same 75W TDP meaning that neither needs to have additional PCIe power connectors in order to run, just taking all the juice they need from the motherboard connection itself.

Memory Bandwidth. There will, of course, be those factory-overclocked options which do add in a 6-pin PCIe connection to boost the potential overclocking performance, but I still feel that kinda misses the point of these lower-end cards.
