Although lots of work remains to be done on that, I have more or less completed the portion containing Westeros, got map of essos, which is now available to view below. The continent of Westeros. Please click for a much larger version. There is some work still to be done.

They are canon — and the only maps to cover the east of Essos, including everything from Qarth to Asshai. In I was commissioned to illustrate the official maps of Westeros and Essos for the world of Game of Thrones. Each map is 3 feet by 2 feet in size, 72 square feet of maps in total. Warning — the last map contains spoilers as it shows the character journeys up to the end of A Dance With Dragons. The entire world map of Game of Thrones stretches past the Bone Mountains that divide Essos down the middle, over to the far East. Those distant lands include Asshai, in the Land under Shadow, with the mysterious and luminous ghost grass, as well as Carcosa, and Leng — both Lovecraft references that make it into Game of Thrones on the very edge of the world.

The website is designed to display useful information on top of the map layer and link to additional details on the Westeros. If you haven't finished reading the novels or watching the shows, you can hide any details that might spoil the plot. Simply drag the slider in the top-right corner to the last chapter or episode that you've completed. You can move the slider with arrow buttons in order to animate the characters' paths. Keep in mind that the slider only controls this map; any page you may open on the wiki site may contain spoilers. If you'd like to share this map with others and point them to a specific location, hold down the Ctrl button while you click on the map. You will be given a URL that will automatically center the map on that point. The map layer used in this website was drawn by theMountainGoat based on previous work by Tear of the Cartographer's Guild. If you find any errors in the map data, please alert me on the Westeros. You may notice that this map is contradicted, in places, by the maps shown in The Lands of Ice and Fire. Since the maps in that collection are clearly copyrighted material, I have no intention of copying them directly and I'm going to remain cautious in pulling details from them to correct this website. It's also important to note that the person who added the interactive functions to this map is different from the person who originally drew it-- I can't update the drawing myself. The sheer size of Game of Thrones ' map of Westeros alone is already somewhat daunting - and that's just around half of the Known World. Game of Thrones ' story is quite dense and not easy to break into. Not only is it populated by a massive cast of principal characters, it also takes place in a fantasy world with geography that is as well-documented as the political intrigues that propel much of the action. Although House of the Dragon 's timeline is set centuries earlier than the original series, most of it will also take place within Westeros. George R. Martin created an incredibly detailed and believable backdrop for the A Song of Ice and Fire series — so much so that Game of Thrones' location map have drawn droves of tourists to where filming took place. Much of the conflict in Game of Thrones is defined by different regions and the long histories of dispute some have between them, not to mention the strategic advantage certain geographical locations offer and the near-constant fights over who controls them.

I finally just bought these for my husband for our one year anniversary and I absolutely cannot wait for them to get here!! Spoilers — this last map shows the character paths to the end of A Dance With Dragons. The huge area in the Land of Always Winter is pretty neat. Using this all for some inspiration and tips for my current map project. I want to have the proportions and scales on the local maps as accurate as possible to the world map. At the moment I have landed on using vectors as guidelines for the different maps, but I am no photoshop pro and would love to learn how you did it with these maps. And why is Sea of Sighs is pinkish? Glad you like them!

Slaver's Bay [1] is the area on the southern coast of Essos , located to the southeast of Westeros and the Free Cities and to the west of Qarth. The name can refer to the bay itself or the entire region.
