After being fired from his new job, Newton met Shadwell on the street and was recruited as Witchfinder Private, mainly because that would get him out of his house. It was Newton who told Anathema that Adam was the Antichrist, and during a tornado caused by Adam, Newton and Anathema got intimate under the bed. At the end of Good Omens season 1, he and Anathema were living together, and they agreed to not be descendants of witchfinders and witches anymore and build their own paths.
