I would say the Charcoal is closer to the New Deluxe narrower platform, slanted transition to the guard, slots vs posts. Of which the Ikon Deluxe Open Comb is also a clone. I can't think of a New Improved clone off hand. Wolfman type heads, like the Game Changer, adopt the wide flat platform but add additional clamping at the primary fulcrum which I think is actually a better design.
