We believe that every homeless pet deserves a second chance. We are the largest shelter and only open-intake facility in Galveston County taking in approximately 5, animals each year. The Best Friends Network is comprised of thousands of animal welfare groups from every single state, all working to save the lives of pets in their own communities. Bay Area Pet Adoptions is a non-profit, c 3 No-Kill shelter, pet rescue, and adoption organization that relies on donations from the public to house, feed, and medically care for the dogs and cats taken in our adoption program. All financial contributions and in-kind donations are tax deductible. Bay Area Pet Adoptions does not euthanize for space. Our adoption program strives to place the animal with a family whose lifestyle and activity level matches that of the animal. The Galveston Island Humane Society is dedicated to the cause and welfare of unwanted or homeless animals. This organization provides a temporary refuge for these animals, arranges placement in responsible homes, and provides community education toward the prevention of cruelty to animals and the instruction of humane pet care.
