I have stayed in an Ibis in France and Belgium - both quite basic but always clean and got everything l need and not too expensive. Ibis is OK.

Love the Premier Inn's in London. All of them are bright, clean, modern, and reasonable priced. Is there an equivalent in Paris? Is there anything? If you join the free Accor ALL membership, you can sometimes get a discount and points can go towards a money off voucher or other things. But it depends on how old the hotel is, the Ibis Eiffel Tower Cambronne has recently been renovated although I dislike the new reception area.
