Five Nights at Freddy's creator Scott Cawthon has expressed his gratitude to fans for resisting a first look at the upcoming movie adaptation after an unfinished version of the trailer leaked online.

Welcome back to Cameras At The Ready, where today, we talk about something that we have been waiting on for eight years. Something that went through so many production challenges, and so many delays, that we all convinced ourselves at one point that it would never happen, only for it to suddenly revive and become one of the most anticipated video-game film adaptations of the year. You can tell that the team making this thing had an actual passion for what they were doing. The little glimpses that we get of the set designs are absolutely incredible, with the pizzeria looking to have an insane amount of detail and a very lively, yet haunting atmosphere. Literally everything else about the animatronics in the movie is so faithful to the games, and fully red eyes has never been a thing in FNAF, so this was definitely a weird choice. Aside from that one small issue, the acting looks great, the visuals look fantastic, and I think this movie will do an amazing job capturing the spirit of the FNAF games, while also adding a little bit of a new spin on it. This trailer showed a lot in less than a minute, and it has been doing a great job getting people excited.

Five Nights at Freddy's creator Scott Cawthon breaks his silence on the movie trailer leak. Based on the video game franchise created by Cawthon, the upcoming Five Nights at Freddy's film follows a similar premise as a troubled security guard takes a nighttime job at the titular family entertainment center where four animatronic mascots murder anyone who is still there after midnight. As anticipation rose to see the first official footage from the film, which stars Josh Hutcherson and Matthew Lillard, a trailer was unfortunately leaked online to mixed reactions. Shortly after the Five Nights at Freddy's movie trailer leaked online, Scott Cawthon took to Reddit to comment on the situation. The franchise creator, who also co-wrote and produced the movie, shared his disappointment and frustration regarding the trailer being leaked online, though he was encouraged by the fan base's pushback. Read Cawthon's full comments below:. The Five Nights at Freddy's leak was disappointing considering all those at Universal and Blumhouse who have been working hard on the movie and the trailer, only to have the first look spoiled online. However, Cawthon also acknowledges the community response to the trailer leak has been incredibly encouraging. Many online communities, such as the Five Nights at Freddy's subreddit, are pushing back by prohibiting any posting or discussion about the contents of the leaked trailer. Many Five Nights at Freddy's fans are also refusing to watch the leaked trailer and, as Cawthon says, will be much more pleased with the final product once the trailer's VFX and sound editing is complete. However, it's unclear when the trailer will be finished and officially released.

The first teaser for the Five Night at Freddy's movie has landed online — and, surprisingly, it looks really good. After years languishing in development hell, Universal and Blumhouse Productions' live-action film adaptation is finally ready to be shared with the world. And, the flick seems like it'll be worth watching when it arrives in late October. Clearly, a lot of love, care, and detail has gone into ensuring it resembles Scott Cawthon's iconic horror videogame series as possible. For those unfamiliar with the gaming franchise: Five Nights at Freddy's sees players assume the role of Mike Schmidt, a newly-hired security guard who is forced to survive six nights at the titular pizzeria when its animal-based animatronics spookily come to life during the night. The game series became an overnight phenomenon when it originally launched in , and has gone on to be a major influence on the indie horror games genre in the years since. The Five Nights at Freddy's franchise now comprises eight mainline games — with an extremely convoluted, interconnected plot that game theorists have spent years trying to work out — as well as four spin-off games, tons of merchandise, an in-universe book series, and an absolute slew of knock-off titles, such as One Night at Flumpty's. So, how will the Five Nights at Freddy's movie tackle the franchise's ever-expanding narrative?
