We deal with planning applications relating to minerals and waste developments as well as applications for Derbyshire County Council development such as schools and libraries. Derby City Council and the Peak District National Park deal with all planning applications including mineral and waste applications within their areas. District and borough councils deal with all other types of planning applications. Details of current applications under consideration by us and our recent decisions are available. There is also information on the application's processing stage and, where it is known, the date that the application will be considered by the Regulatory Planning and Control Committee or the strategic director - economy, transport and environment for delegated items. The information provided in the register is continuously updated from our planning application system. If you want to comment on any of these applications please use the comments form to submit them or post them to us. Our regulatory - planning committee make decisions where there are planning policy objections or other unresolved planning objections. The aim of development control is to pro-actively ensure that the pattern and nature of proposed development falls within local policies and follows central government legislation and guidance as set out in Planning Policy Guidance Statements. We provide information and advice on the planning process to all who wish to invest and develop in Derby. We try to deal with most applications within eight weeks, or within thirteen weeks for major applications. Applications go through various stages before we make a decision. If we do not have enough information to process an application, we will write to the applicant outlining the issues.
