Maple is well-known for its clear tone and dynamic range - that's why the all-solid maple construction of the E6 delivers some of the best sound found in any Ukulele. A significant feature - the neck and middle back body are carved from a single piece of wood - adding to its incredibly beautiful tone. Super-thin body enhances playability while the fretboard inlay gives the E6 a beauty found in far more expensive instruments. It looks pretty and sounds lovely, the matching case is cute as well. I did buy a longer strap as the one supplied wasn't quite comfortable for me but that is just personal preference and not a fault at all. I'm delighted with it and can hardly wait for ukulele club on Thursday so I can show it off. I love the quality of build and the sound from that one.

Impartial observations, not criticisms It sounds quite nice for a plastic ukulele so I'm definitely not in any way questioning the quality, fit, finish or the price point value. The metal frets in a molded plastic fretboard are indeed a noteworthy achievement. Kudos to Enya. We know that looks can be deceiving and this model looks like a child's toy from the early 's rather than the decent musical instrument that it is. I own a Flea, Fluke and Outdoor as well as solid wood and laminate ukuleles so I'm surely not adverse to the use or appearance of plastic particularly when it adds durability and serviceability without subtracting too much sound. And I know full well that this model Enya is definitely not a toy. Great review thanks.
