Leeds University Union Ballet Society is a well established university society with over members who attend classes to keep fit, improve their technique, perform, and make new friends. We are open to anyone with an interest in ballet, regardless of experience, as our classes range from complete beginner to advanced. Weekly classes are held on campus within purpose built studios with sprung floors, mirrors and barres. Our professional teachers support and coach our dancers, providing challenging but fun material throughout the year. Our Semester 1 Timetable will be uploaded here before the beginning of term once timings have been confirmed! We have two award winning competitions teams, who travel to universities in Semester 2 to compete against different universities. Our competition teams give our dancers the opportunity to travel across the North of England to perform in front of other talented dancers and further improve their performance skills in a challenging, but supportive environment.

Vertical Fitness is a society based around the exciting and extremely addictive form of exercises that are pole fitness, pole dance, aerial hoop and aerial silks. In one workout it combines flexibility, strength and balance. The classes are designed to build self-confidence and make you feel good about yourself while getting fit and meeting new people. Class tickets are sold through Engage - please be aware that there are limited spots available for each class. Our socials are a great way to get to know your classmates and other society members. They include a range of activities such as bowling, pub quizzes, nights out at Revs Electric Press or in collaboration with Fresh2Death, as well as bigger events such as our Christmas Celebration and the Annual Dance Ball. We also host several workshops throughout the year with pole and aerial experts from across the UK! We have many performance opportunities throughout the year, including the LUU Dance Show, Intercomp, our annual showcase, hour pole-a-thon and many more! Please contact us at verticalfitness luu.
